Our Wholesome Community

Outreach for Oral Health

The path towards excellent community oral health starts at school. The Oral Health Taskforce believes that school-aged children have the power to lead informative discussions about oral health at home. The Oral Health Program staff provide a variety of resources for teachers, parents, and children at pre-selected target schools. Teachers and parents have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on various oral health and hygiene topics to guide children towards optimal oral and overall health.

To ensure children are equipped with the tools required for proper oral hygiene they have the opportunity to receive toothbrushes, floss, and interactive instruction on proper oral hygiene techniques.

Through a partnership with Big Smiles Mobile Dental, the Oral Health Program staff facilitate mobile dental clinics where children may receive oral health screenings, fluoride varnish application, and dental sealant application provided by a dentist.
